Going away again! Shop is closed from Sep 5th to the 10th! We will take
orders but no invoices for shipping will be sent nor parcels. Resin horo are
being made and we are hoping to stock them by the end of September!
Horo were often worn by tsukai (field messengers) or even elite units.

Update to the WIP gallery. These greens are for new upcoming "At-Ease"
figures! I spoke with the resin caster and the horo probably won't be in
stock until late October. I am sending notices to those who have expressed
an interest in us making Ming troops. If you have not been contacted
please email and I will add you to the list. I will then send you a proposal.
Regards,
David

Restocked! New WIPs! Ming Syndicate proposal!

Start of our annual Christmas Sale! This year due to the size of the
catalogue there will be selected items from 10% to 40% off. Shipping
however will be calculated on the usual pricing of our range and not on the
discounted price. Order early because there are limited quantities in some
packs and to ensure your parcel arrives in time for the holidays!
December 6, 2009
This might be the last message before Christmas so I want to wish you all a
merry one and a happy New Year! We will stop shipping from Dec 24th to
Jan 5th. We will still take orders. Update on the resin horos. They are
turning out to be difficult to make in resin so they will not be available for
sale for awhile yet (maybe never). Some releases being planned for next
year are new standing ashigaru with yari, samurai with yari standing, and
sohei with missile weapons. Still thinking of a new range but nothing has
been firmed up yet.

Restocked!
March 1, 2010
A little bit of news and some reminders. The sculptor has been engaged to
do a set of six Sohei with bows and a set of three Ashigaru at ease with
yari. The Ashigaru will eventually be added to the current pack.

Wars Convention at booth location 15. The dealer area opens March 11

We've run out of SA-020! We do have enough of one pose to make a
temporary special pack available on the home page. This set will have six
identical poses. The set includes jingasa, scabbards, sashimono and
assorted spears. It will have a special price while quanities last!
To those who signed up for the Ming Syndicate a special announcement
will be made shortly.
Work continues on the Sohei and Ashigaru packs. I am trying a new resin
caster for the Horo project and will get back to you on that.
June 2010
We have just sent 8 sculpts to the casters. These 28mm sculpts will
augment the existing sets: Ashigaru At Ease, Ashigaru Archers, and a new
Sohei Archer. Check the pics out in the WIP of the website or in the
Yahoo! Newsletter WIP photo album. All figures are designed for the
Sengoku-Jidai period. The four Sohei are wearing robes with a hint of
armour worn beneath. They have tachi, quivers, yumi and even prayer
beads attached to the figure. This should minimize time to get these
fellows painted and on to the table!
We're also trying to make some horo (arrow catchers) in resin. The
reason for this is we'd like the horo to be as historically accurate as
possible which means big! But we don't want to topple the figures over
so we are trying a lightweight resin to make this accessory. Pictures also
available in the WIP galleries.
Expected release date is September.
August 9, 2010
Small update in the dog days of summer! The masters for the new Sohei
and Ashigaru are back at the casters and the production versions should be
available soon! In the meantime photos have been placed in the WIP
gallery in both the Yahoo! Newsletter and in the Kingsford website. These
28mm pewter figures capture the essence of the Sengoku-Jidai period
faithfully and accurately. We're experimenting a little bit with the archers
in this batch. Each figure is cast wholly with scabbard, quiver and bow in
place. No more fiddling with stale glue and small pieces! These can go
straight to whatever basing system you use quickly and easily. We expect
these to be available in September. We will also be adding some new
artwork showcasing the mon of various clan and updating those already on
the website.
For those living or visiting the Pacific North West a new exhibit showcasing
Samurai armours at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria runs from August
6th to November 14th.
